In case you missed the latest Heavey Duty Article:
Energy Systems, aka- 50 Shades of Conditioning.
Our 626 class programming serves one all-encompassing purpose:
To prepare you for anything life throws at you. Quite simply, we want you to be prepared and confident to tackle any challenge that may arise.
How do we do that? Training each energy system is key to developing broad all encompassing fitness and overall health. Think back over your training the last week…which wods primarily utilized the phosphagen system? (Cough cough, remember those 50m sprints?) Which were glycolytic and which were primarily using the oxidative system for energy? Helping you understand the various energy systems leads to greater knowledge and clarity as to why we do what we do.
In the words of Mr. Heavey Duty himself: “Each energy system requires a unique approach to building volume, intensity and adequate recovery. When combined appropriately, it’s truly a beautiful thing where improvements in one energy system compound and can be leveraged to improve the others.”
Whether it’s keeping up with your kids playing soccer at the park, carrying 8 bags of groceries into the house in 1 trip, or tossing a little old lady over your shoulder and running down 3 flights of stairs to safely escape a burning building, we want you to feel prepared for the task at hand.
