Budgeting. It’s a practice done and seen everywhere with pretty much everything. When re-arranging furniture, we have a finite amount of space to budget. When shopping or meeting monthly bills, we have a financial budget. When we have work and spend time with friends, we budget our time accordingly. But what about something a little less tangible… like performance?
Performance can be broken down into 3 difference sectors: Safety, Speed, and Load. All of which affects your recovery, consistency, and results (RCR). And for how long you can sustain all 3 is what we know as your fatigue threshold. So think of these 3 sectors as your cash money. The RCR is what you are purchasing with that currency. And then Fatigue is how big your wallet is. Like everything else, it is measured in ratio of percentages equaling to no greater than 100%, combined.
Next time you WOD, keep in mind of what you need to focus on to drive results in all aspects of your performance. Further details can be found here. And don’t be shy to ask your coach to coach you as much as you need.
