What? Huh?
In case you missed last week’s post about the program, read on for the details:
This program will combine endurance workouts to complement your regular CrossFit strength and conditioning workouts to form a complete endurance training program. Because the endurance workouts are a progressive training program, we would like for you to commit to the entire 8 week program in order to participate.
Endurance classes will be held at 6:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays
Warning: This is not your typical long-slow distance endurance program…
This program will incorporate CrossFit fundamentals of being constantly varied, with a focus on getting you frickin’ fast and powerful. This endurance program will eliminate unnecessary volume of training while increasing intensity. The session will focus on CrossFit Running (proper form, technique, skills and drills), and oh yeah, turning you into a speed demon. This session will also have a focus on general conditioning for strength and injury prevention.
The goals of this 8 week program include: a major PR on your 5k AND improve core strength & single leg strength.
The nitty gritty:
- The program will run from 9/29-11/19/14
- Class size: The program is available to all active 626 members, but the program will be limited to ten individuals. (We will also be offering a limited number of spots to the Dog Haus Running Group at a nonmember rate.)
- 626 Member Cost: $50 for the 8 week program

On another note, I’d like to spend a few minutes congratulating Coach Brandon Heavey on his recent accomplishments. For those of you that don’t know, Coach Heavey has spent the last year studying and learning as much as possible in order to improve our programming, nutrition, and training offerings at 626. He’s put serious time into various methodologies of training, including hands on skillwork and written examinations on the following specialties: athlete assessment, program design, nutrition, business systems… and a final exam including detailed case studies formulating comprehensive training plans utilizing all of the above specialties.
And I’m proud to announce Coach Heavey is now officially one of only 22 OPT CCP Level 1 coaches IN THE WORLD- and the first one in California.
Super proud of you, Mr Heavey Duty… and super proud to call you my coach (and husband).
