Have you seen your 626 peers having fun and making dramatic
improvements to their aerobic capacity in our endurance pilot program?
Interested in this type of directed training, but in other areas? As
we mentioned when we announced the endurance class, it is just one in
a series of specialized classes we will begin rolling out at 626 over
the next few months. Now that some of you have had an opportunity to
improve your endurance we’re going to hop to the other side of the
spectrum and build strength.
Introducing the 626 strength-specific program. These upcoming session
will focus on building strength in four key lifts: Deadlift, Back
Squat, Shoulder Press and Bench Press. Strength in these movements
transfers to many of the other movements we perform in the gym
(Olympic lifts anyone?). Similar to the endurance classes, this
6-week strength program will be held 2 times per week (Tuesday and
Thursday evenings at 6:30pm). In the same fashion, this class will be
run as a pilot program (free!). We also will be capping this initial
run to 6 members, so if we get more than that interested, we will draw
names out of a hat. Since the size is limited, please only submit
your name if you can fully commit to the full 6 weeks.
If you’re interested in getting your name on the list for the pilot,
please contact Coach B. We will be holding an information session
next Saturday (8/4) at 9am (directly following the community wod).
And to answer a question some of you may have, this program is about
getting *strong*, not necessarily getting big. So I’d like to have
good representation from our ladies too! For those of you that get
into the class, get ready to lift some heavy sh*t!
