What is Crossfit? So by now some of you have started talking about CrossFit.
A LOT. Everywhere you go… at work… with friends… Even your mom.
And then someone asks you what you are doing “differently”, ‘cause they really like Zumba.
“I move heavy stuff, I push and I pull” just isn’t your style. Crossfit is defined as: constantly varied functional movements, performed at high intensity. Ok. That’s probably not your style either. And you’ll probably get the standard response of “Huh?”
My usual response is that we do many different things, utilizing gymnastics, Olympic weight lifting and endurance sports movements. We focus on building strength and endurance in movements we encounter on a daily basis. We constantly vary our workouts by movement, load/resistance, and amount of time.
There is so much more to explain. The science behind it. The way you feel before, during, and after a WOD. The results you’ve noticed. But why not just ask if they would like to try it…
